The Shawshank Redemption (1994)
On of the best movies that have ever been made, voted #1 on IMDb with a rate of 9.2 from 860.555 votes, and counting, The Shawshank Redemption (1994) stars Tim Robbins as Andy Dufresne, a banker in Maine who is convicted in 1947 of murdering his wife and her lover. For this action he is given two life sentences and is sent to the Shawshank Prison. Even thought Andy claims he’s innocent, his demeanor led many to doubt his word.
During his first night in Shawshank, one of the newly arrived inmate is savagely beaten by the chief guard, Byron Hadley (Clancy Brown), because of his crying and hysterics. With the doctor beign left for the night, the inmate dies later in the infirmary. Ellis Redding (Morgan Freeman), also known as Red, bet that Andy will be the one to break down first, but that ends with him losing a considerable amount of cash.
